Ontario International Airport Parking

Effective today, Ontario International Airport is closing Lot F, the airport parking lot at the corner of Airport Drive and Vineyard Avenue. ONT suggests parking in Lot 5, another long-term parking lot, in lieu of Lot F, although if you’re traveling through Terminal 2 instead of Terminal 4, that’s not so convenient. Rates are boasted at $8 per diem, however, parking on-site is first-come, first-served and reservations cannot be made ahead of time.

On the webpage for Ontario International Airport, travelers are referred to a reservation company, where they can book parking off-site at Park N’Fly. Supposedly, travelers can save fifty percent. However, while booking on ONT’s partner reservation site costs $78.00, booking the same lot for the same dates (in this case, October 15, 2008 through October 22, 2008) on APR costs only $62.00. Why the difference? The airport parking lot is the same company, Park N’Fly, and offers free shuttle service, round the clock security, free luggage assistance and even a newspaper to make the three minute ride to your terminal more pleasant.

If the parking lot is the same, and amenities are the same, then why price discrepancy? Is the more expensive company such a wonderful one that it’s worth handing them an extra $16.00? They offer guaranteed reservations, just like AirportParkingReservations. They have a LiveChat module…APR does as well. They have a phone number travelers can call; the line is open ninety-eight hours a week. APR’s help line is open 189 hours a week (that’s every hour, 24/7). They do one thing differently: they offer a refund policy, but only if your total parking rates are less than $15. Incidentally, booking your ONT airport parking with them costs $21 for two days (October 15, 2008 through October 16, 2008), which means you’d be ineligible for that refund.

All in all, Park N’Fly is the best deal for airport parking at ONT…and it doesn’t matter which terminal you’re using, because you’ll have a free shuttle ride. When it comes to booking your parking, the best deal is with AirportParkingReservations, for the best rates, and the best service.
