When it can keep you from getting sick.

Did you know that, among the many disgusting things one comes in contact with in a hotel room, the television remote is WAY up there? It makes sense when you think about it. We do not recommend thinking about it.

But germ-o-phobes rejoice! Thanks to LodgeNet, you can now control the tv in your hotel room from your very own phone. I tried it this weekend, and it worked like a charm.

Now, we can’t vouch for the cleanliness of your phone - but at least you know where those germs came from.

The Best Vacations for Geeks

February 14th, 2012

I have a confession to make… I come from a long line of geeks. My dad is a science geek, and my dating life featured comic book/sci-fi/gamer/movie geeks, and I married a music geek. (I probably qualify as a Muppet geek, but that’s not really a thing.)

Fortunately, it’s been cool to be a geek for a a while now. And if you’re into proudly letting your geek flag fly, you may be interested in these geek-cation ideas. (I just made that up. Think it’ll stick?)

My dad will certainly tell me to make sure and add the JPL open house to the list. That’s a little much for me… So text me when you’re done. I’ll be in the Apple Store.

The Best Airports for Not Flying

We don’t know anyone who gets excited about going to the airport because of all the delicious food and fun things to do.

That said, when I was in college and regularly flying in and out of Pittsburgh Airport, the plethora of mall-stores and decent eateries made it a nice place to get bumped.

Check out this list of five US airports that are doing a good job on the shops-and-eateries front. (Even a couple of lounges with free WiFi and pet parks! Get it together, Pittsburgh!)
